Wine References: Robert Parker: Robert Parker's book, Bordeaux, is the reference guide to Bordeaux wines. In the 20 plus years I have been in Bordeaux, there has not been one dinner party where wine is discussed that Robert Parker's name did not come up. You can find his ratings and information on www.erobertparker.com.
Bordeaux and Its Wines by Feret is another great reference book on Bordeaux. The first chapters do an excellent job describing climate, soil, grape varieties, wine making techniques before providing a detailed listing on all major Bordeaux Chateau. The first edition of Bordeaux and Its Wines was published in 1846! Bordeaux, People, Power and Politics by Stephen Brook. This is an excellent book to read for anyone interested in Bordeaux wines. It gives an intimate look at the people, economics and politics of the wines from this historic region.
